Tucked away just behind Cardigan Castle at number 45 St. Mary Street, you will find Bar 45 – Cardigan's first and only craft gin bar.
Building upon the success of local gin distillery In the Welsh Wind (situated in Tanygroes), Bar 45 is now open and stocks the full range of Welsh Wind and Eccentric gins, as well as a curated selection of wines and local beers.
Ellen Wakelam, co-founder and distillery director of In the Welsh Wind has expressed her excitement about the opening of the new venue. “Opening a bar in this beautiful
building is something of a dream for us … It’s a lovely intimate venue and a great way to bring our award-winning spirits to more people, both locally and to visitors.”
Bar 45 will also offer guests the opportunity to try their hand at gin-making and take home their very own unique bottle, with regular gin blending sessions available to book.
The venue also operates a bottle shop, meaning that you can stop by to pick up your favourite In The Welsh Wind tipple. If you are not yet familiar with the brand, we would recommend starting with their award-winning Signature Style Gin – it’s not one to be missed!
