Good Carma Foods is a small and innovative food business specialising in the development of a range of plant based products. Named for its location in the heart of Carmarthenshire, and its aim and rationale to nutritionally help all people, Good Carma Foods offers an alternative to dairy cheese without sacrificing flavour, enjoyed by vegans and non-vegans alike. Charlotte Bates set up Good Carma Foods in the summer of 2013 in honour of her mother, Lynne, who died earlier that year. Charlotte has been vegan since 2010 and was vegetarian for 10 years before that. Charlotte has always been passionate about animals and their welfare; and has a strong understanding and interest in health and nutrition.
Good Carma Foods started their alternative products with their Flavour Fusion range - a range of grated parmesan style alternatives packaged in a shaker tube (similar to grated Parmesan). Grab their Flavour Fusion range in three different flavours - original, garlic, and oregano and chilli. The Flavour Fusion range is packed with Himalayan pink salt, nutritional yeast and B12 which all have health benefits and contribute to a healthy diet. Almonds are added as they are high in monounsaturated fats, the same type of health-promoting fats as are found in olive oil, which have been associated with reduced risk of heart disease. Good Carma Foods have recently expanded their range, launching a range of spreadable cheese style dairy free alternatives called ‘Spread Sensation’. All of their products are free from dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, palm oil, additives and preservatives, so you know that there’s nothing but the good stuff left in! Their products are low in carbohydrates, and high in protein, so are good for those sticking to a keto diet. Good Carma Foods are multi-award winning, having won a Great Taste award in 2017, receiving a bronze award from the Free From Food Awards Awards in the Innovation Section and high commended in the Good Choice Quality Food Awards.
And it’s not just you that Good Carma Foods do good for - they’re also good for the environment. Firstly, everything is UK produced so the food miles are reduced and the plant based nature of the products reduces their carbon emissions. The packaging is also recyclable and zero waste options are available.
Good Carma Foods are currently supplied to Waitrose, Morrison’s, Ocado and all Planet Organic Stores in London. Other distributors include Cotswold Fayre, Queenswood Natural Foods, Marigold Health Foods, Suma, Tree Of Life and The Health Store distributors.
