At this year’s San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the Brecon Beacons based whisky distillery Penderyn took home three gold awards and 2 ‘double golds’ for five of their single malt whiskies. The two double gold winners were Penderyn Rich Oak and Penderyn Celt, with their Madeira, Myth, and Portwood whiskies picking up a gold award each.
The awards handed out at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition are amongst the most sought after in the whisky industry, and Penderyn can now add these wins to their list of accolades, which include over 90 ‘gold’ and ‘master’ designations from different awarding bodies.
Sam Filmus, President of Penderyn’s US importer ImpexBev, said: ‘We couldn’t be more proud … It is a true testament to the quality and care that goes into each bottle that Penderyn produce. As the US importer it gives us great pleasure to see the numbers of loyal fans of Penderyn here in the US growing and we are confident these well-deserved awards will continue to grow along with them.’
