BlasCymru/TasteWales - Come and Taste Wales! - 27th-28th October 2021

Updated: Aug 12, 2021

BlasCymru/TasteWales is an exclusive event taking place every two years that brings together the best Welsh businesses from the food and drink industry for a chance for sellers and buyers to connect over a speed-dating style format. The event will be one of the first in the Welsh industry calendar to safely welcome back attendees, and see buyers heading to the International Convention Centre Wales (ICWW) to learn about the latest developments being made in the Welsh food industry.

The inaugural BlasCymru/TasteWales event, run by the Welsh government, was held in March 2017 and resulted in an additional £16m of orders for Welsh food and drink, and in 2019 the event secured nearly £20m of potential new business for Welsh food and drink producers, so there are big hopes for this year’s event!

BlasCymru/TasteWales hosts large scale companies to artisan producers all under one roof, offering businesses the chance to showcase their products and offer tastings. The event was originally planned for March this year, but has been postponed until October to make sure that tastings can safely take place. Participants will also get tailored meeting itineraries to help them make the most efficient use of their time, and a profile on each producer will be available prior to the event so questions and research can be prepared beforehand. The food and drink Wales team can provide tailored information and introduce suppliers and buyers to each other.

BlasCymru/TasteWales is the event for you if you’re a Welsh producer, a national or international buyer, or are involved in working in the food industry such as retail, caterers, cafes’, guest houses, hotels, pubs and restaurants. BlasCymru/TasteWales will give you the opportunity to:

· engage with researchers who will be on hand to share and discuss with you the findings of the latest food research in Wales

· Speak with the team from Food Innovation Wales, who will be on hand to offer advice

· See and taste the latest Welsh food and drink products

· Meet with representatives from Wales’ Education institutions as well as other training providers

· Meet new innovative businesses hoping to break into new markets

· Engage with stakeholders who can assist with supporting your business requirements whether you are a new start-up or established business

BlasCymru/TasteWales will also host seminars which will focus on future-proofing the Welsh food and drink industry through advancing technical, commercial, environmental and production capabilities. Seminars will cover subjects such as emerging trends and markets, financial management, global accreditation and waste reduction in factories. Representatives from the Welsh Government will also present on the applied solutions to barriers to growth under its innovative ‘food sector cluster’ programmes.
