Untapped Brewing Company - Tapping into their Full Potential during Lockdown

It goes without saying that the past year has been tough on many small businesses, forcing many to take drastic steps to keep afloat. But lockdown wasn’t going to stop fans of Untapped Brewery from enjoying their favourite beer.

Starting out in 2009 and having to borrow the kit to make their beer, Untapped has blossomed and in 2013 they had raised enough money to move into their own brewery in Raglan. Over the past year, business has been flat out at Untapped as they have been filling out online orders and delivering beer and ales of all sizes to customers all over the UK. Before lockdown, Untapped estimated that online orders made up only about 1% of their business, whereas over the past few months it has risen to 10%. This boost in online sales is largely in part due to their dedicated fans, who found themselves really missing the taste of Untapped’s beer. Untapped’s beautifully unique beers are made using Welsh water, and without any finings or additives; it’s no wonder their fans are so dedicated to the taste.

Under current circumstances, the brewery shop in Raglan is now open again, 6 days a week, but online orders can still be made to get award winning real ales delivered straight to your door, including their bestseller ‘Whoosh’. Whoosh is described on Untapped’s website as ‘Pale straw in colour, hopped and dry hopped with a blend of 4 American hop varieties. A wonderfully fruity nose, with bright, zesty flavours and a clean, dry finish. Aromatic and satisfying.’ Intended to only be a seasonal drink, its popularity and strong following means that Whoosh is here to stay year round.

Untapped has had wonderful feedback from their customers over the past year, saying they’ve kept them sane through lockdown, giving them a glimpse into the routine they used to have; beer to keep you sane, isn’t that worth a try? Back in Autumn 2020, Untapped released ‘Diolch’, a new beer to say thank you to all of their customers for their support over the past year.

As restrictions ease, Untapped is slowly returning to a few select pubs in the local area, so if you want to get your hands on the perfect beer to see at the heatwave with, a visit to Untapped’s brewery shop or website is a must. If you’re hosting any upcoming barbeques or summer birthdays, why not keep Untapped’s services in mind to keep you stocked? Premium and Core range casks can be ordered from their website.

Untapped brewery is open for you to visit their shop from 10-5 Monday to Friday, and 10-3 on Saturdays, so make sure to drop by soon.
